cancer season 2021 horoscopes
Cancer season is here to smooth out all of the kinks that last month’s retrograde brought up for us. The Full Moon in Capricorn will happen on June 24, just as the Sun trines Jupiter in Pisces. This day is here for us to relish in what we’ve accomplished and to open up to receiving the rewards for the inner and outer work that we’ve done.
The Sun in Cancer will make trines and sextiles to Uranus in Taurus & Jupiter in Pisces, making ease, pleasure, and love more accessible to us. This month won’t be without its speed bumps, but these transits will remind us of the silver linings that surround us. Mars will continue its transit in Leo, where it will square Uranus in Taurus and Saturn in Aquarius. This transit will last until the end of July, demanding that we pick our battles wisely, and find a balance between self-control and self-censorship.
Finally, Neptune will retrograde in Pisces from June 25 until November 30. Neptune rules fantasy, imagination, creativity, and escapism. At its best, Neptune is the planet of artists, dreamers, healers and all kinds of out-of-this-world experiences. At its worst, that escapism can pull us too far away from reality, and the comfort that we feel in fantasy can create dependency. It’s not a coincidence that Neptune also rules deception and illusion, addiction, and self-undoing. While this may sound scary, consider this retrograde a blessing. When this cloudy planet changes course, it gives us the clarity we need in order to step back and make head over heart decisions. Pay attention to where Neptune (and Pisces) is in your chart to get a better idea of how this transit will affect you.
Mercury is officially out of retrograde, but doesn’t leave its shadow period until July 7. On the 7th, Mercury will square Neptune, revisiting the lessons and challenges we encountered during the past month and asking us to tie up the loose ends.

Aries + Aries Rising
Cancer season is here to soften your edges and light up the places you call home, Aries. This is the time to step back from the spotlight and take inventory of how you sustain yourself, what you value, and what keeps you from feeling and receiving the warmth of connection that you deserve. Jupiter is here to remind you that soft is not the opposite of strong. Now is the time to confront any fears you have around feelings of solitude, isolation, or expressing your vulnerability. Cancer season is asking you to breathe into the parts of you that you safeguard from the world, and seek a balance between honoring yourself and closing yourself off from connection and care. What do you value in relationships and connections? How do your actions align with this?
The full moon is bringing a culmination to the hard work that you’ve put into your career over the past few years. Whether you’re ending one path to start another, or breaking through to the next level of your work, it’s time to give yourself a pat on the back. Mars is moving through the part of your chart that rules creativity, joy, and true love, giving you a surge of energy to live your life to its fullest. This time is here for your enjoyment, but it also requires temperance. If your means of obtaining pleasure come at the expense of your financial stability, or leave you unavailable to show up for others when you’re needed, it’s time to figure out how to reel it in. With Neptune retrograding in your house of fears, subconscious, and self-limitation, now is the time to confront and transform your relationship to your internal world. How can you get out of your own way?
Taurus & Taurus Rising
Cancer season is warming up your connections with neighbors, friends, and the people that make up your village, Taurus. The Sun is making loving connections to Uranus and Jupiter, bringing you some appreciation and attention from those around you and broadening your ability to build the networks you have been hoping for. Neptune and Jupiter are retrograding in that same sector of friendship and networks, so although growth and expansion abounds, you’ll also get very clear about who is for you, and who is more for themselves. Neptune leads us to put others on pedestals and often forego our own boundaries in order to show up for friends and the demands of those we love. This retrograde is asking you to pull your energy back and get a little more picky about who you let have access to you. Transitions don’t have to be messy, even if they are disappointing. This is a great time to pay attention to how you feel around specific people and in certain spaces. Remember that you’re not losing anyone by letting them go. What and who is meant for you will be there.
The full moon in Capricorn is bringing a culmination to any fears and turmoil that you’ve overly invested in over the past few years. Anything that you’ve been hard at work to learn, master, and practice is finally bearing fruit for you this month, and it is time for you to shake off the thoughts that prevent you from enjoying the bounty of your gifts. Mars in Leo for the next month is sending a lot of energy into your home, family relationships, and the ways you build your sense of comfort. Venus is here sending great energy, but be mindful of bumping heads with structures, authority figures and others who disagree with what you are looking for in your environment, your relationships, and for your own freedom and emotional well-being. Get ahead of this energy by communicating clearly and being upfront with those around you about how you’re wanting to move.
Gemini & Gemini Rising
The full moon in Capricorn is bringing your emotional responses and sense of personal power to a head, Gemini. It’s time to give yourself the space to breathe, to feel your feelings, and to close out any collaborations or relationships that leave you feeling empty or less than whole. On the other side of this moon is an opportunity to receive. How can you open yourself up to new forms of intimacy, support, and investment from others that are making their way to you? The Sun is highlighting your ability to generate wealth and build on your abundance while appreciating what you have, but is also reminding you to feel good in your own skin this month. The Sun’s positive connections to Uranus and Jupiter will also help you to enjoy the balance between your private and public lives. You may have projects that you’ve been incubating behind-the-scenes for a while that are finally ready to be put out into the world. At the same time, you could be receiving new ideas and inspiration for building your bank account that you will want to work on quietly until it’s their time to be in the spotlight.
Mars’s transit through Leo is reminding you to give yourself grace. This season, your fears of being misunderstood could get in the way you authentically communicating your thoughts and opinions. You could find yourself distracted, shrinking yourself, or misplacing some frustrated energy when it comes to speaking your mind this month. Trust that you know what you’re talking about, but don’t feel like you have to have all of the answers. Neptune and Jupiter retrograde are bringing you clarity about what you want and what you’ve been working toward in your career. If there are loose ends that need to be tied up, or if things just aren’t moving forward in the way that you had hoped, this retrograde season will make it apparent to you. It doesn’t have to be bad. This season is giving you time to focus on what needs work and let go of what feels forced.
Cancer & Cancer Rising
The full moon in Capricorn is bringing old relationship dynamics to a head, Cancer. This could feel exhausting or liberating, but it’s likely that nothing here is really new. This is a reverberation of the energies you’ve dealt with in your intimate relationships and partnerships over the past few years. Consider this full moon one last revisit for you to tie up loose ends so that you can move onto the love, partnership, and connections that complement your growth rather than inhibit it. The silver linings of your season lie in your ability to draw new alliances and connections to you that are likely to expand your perspectives. You’re a magnet for people who can act as mentors, teammates, and collaborators right now. Trying new things with new people this month can alleviate any tensions while also showing you the beautiful new bonds you are ready for given how much you’ve grown.
Mars in Leo is transiting your income sector, bumping heads with Uranus and Saturn. Disagreements over money and shared resources can arise, so be clear about what you can do and do your best to stay fair and solution-oriented. Listen to others who are asking you to honor your word, but don’t scapegoat yourself by taking responsibility for what isn’t yours to hold. You might overestimate the resources you have at your disposal this month, so be careful not to get carried away with spending, borrowing, or over-committing your time. Neptune’s retrograde is bringing a more serious tone to your thoughts and ideals, and requiring you to revisit your long-term plans and your perceptions of the world around you. Be open to the messages you’re receiving right now. Delays aren’t all bad — the lessons that come up over the next five months will stabilize the way you think and move in ways that will benefit you in the long-term.
Leo & Leo Rising
The full moon in Capricorn is bringing a culmination to some aspects of your work-life routines, Leo. It could be time to move on from a specific job or you could be getting much clearer signs that it’s time to check in with and nourish your physical body more. You’ve been here before, especially during the eclipses of 2019 and 2020. While it could definitely feel like an interruption, the full moon just wants to see if you’ve learned what the past few years have been wanting to teach you in this area. With Neptune and Jupiter retrograde, you’re realizing the truth of who and what you’ve been giving your energy (and money) away to. It’s time to re-assess where you’ve been overextending or digging yourself into a hole. This retrograde can signal a bit of sadness for you, because it is also taking place in your area of intimacy, healing, and interpersonal support. If you feel shaken up emotionally throughout this retrograde season, seek out the care that you need in order to put things in perspective and move forward.
The highlight of this month for you is the sun’s movement into Cancer. From here, it’s warming up the part of your chart that rules your private life, spirituality, and solitude. It might not sound that fun, but the Sun here is giving you the time to explore your inner world and take on the personal work that these retrogrades will demand of you. It might be hard to hold your fire this month. Mars is transiting your first house, upping your bravado and adding some edge to your take-no-shit demeanor. This will no doubt shake things up in your career and relationships, especially if you need to speak out on something. By all means, protect your energy and stand up for yourself. It will be a lot easier to act on your ego this month, but rely on your integrity and act from the heart. If you choose to burn a bridge, make sure you won’t need to cross it later.
Virgo & Virgo Rising
The full moon in Capricorn is bringing your creativity to its peak, Virgo. It’s time for new ideas and forms of pleasure to burst forth, but only if you open yourself up to them. At the same time, if the love and creations that you were once attached to are no longer resonating, it could be time to put them on pause so that you can move forward with greater focus. Pay attention to your desires to reflect and retreat this month. Mars is moving through your private life sector, pulling you into the background. This planet is in a tense relationship with Uranus and Saturn this month, picking fights with your fears and the self-doubts that tend to get in your way. Instead of denying these energies as they come up, see what you can do to engage with them. Cancer season is asking you to befriend your fears and ask them to move over so that you can take control of your thoughts and your dreams. This is the time to pick back up on those projects that you’ve dismissed and do the behind-the-scenes work to bring them to completion. It’s okay to go off grid and take breaks. The time away will help you to process your thoughts and feelings so you can come back refreshed and clear on your next steps.
The Sun is here to bring out some truths about your friendships, partnerships, and the beliefs that you’ve held about who is around you. Stay open to people who are drawn to you this month, but discernment is key. Neptune’s retrograde is bringing a sense of gravity to your one-on-one relationships over the next five months. Virgos often get a bad rap for being very critical, but once you choose someone as a member of your friend or family group, you tend to have full faith in them. Retrograde season is asking you to check your assumptions about the people you’re connected to. If you’ve betrayed yourself in order to show up for others or simply given more than you receive, it’s time to listen to your gut about where you place your trust and any relationship imbalances that exist.
Libra & Libra Rising
This is a tremendous time of growth for you, Libra. The Sun is moving through your career sector, making positive connections to Saturn and Jupiter, giving you the chance to make strides in attracting the opportunities and resources to you that you need to build future success. Cancer season is helping to smooth over any of the tensions that came up during Gemini season and reminding you of your own capacity to regenerate, transform, and grow from setbacks. Neptune and Jupiter are now retrograde, and will be out of sorts until the fall of this year. Here, your health and work-life balance are coming up for review. Neptune is calling out any tendencies to over-indulge, overestimate your capacity, or escape from daily obligations. This doesn’t have to be a rude awakening, but it will call your attention to what you’ve been ignoring. If you need to scale things back in order to make more room for yourself, do so. It’s a great time to figure out the balance, routines, and disciplines that work best for your body and your needs.
Something about the way you’re operating this month could put you at odds with your friends, networks, and those you share resources and intimate spaces with. It takes a lot to bring you to your edge, but Mars’s transit through Leo could have you feeling the need to stand up for yourself or call out those you felt have wronged you. Even (and especially) under pressure, approaching conflict with sensitivity and level-headedness will be your saving grace. It doesn’t mean that things will all go smoothly, but it can save you a great deal of drama in the long run. The full moon in Capricorn is bringing up issues of home and family that you’ve been dealing with for a while now. This isn’t a time to avoid conflict or decision-making. It’s time to get to the root of issues, get answers to your questions, and seek mutual understanding so you can move forward.
Scorpio & Scorpio Rising
It’s time to break free, Scorpio. Cancer season is shaking you loose from any tendencies to hold onto things past their expiration date. Mars in Leo is moving through the part of your chart that rules your career and public life, squaring Saturn and Uranus. While last month could have had you feeling inhibited or created delays and tension in your intimate connections, it’s time to move forward. Now that Mercury is (almost) back to normal, you can look at things from a fresh perspective. It is okay to acknowledge when contracts, partnerships, and career obligations don’t suit you anymore. Letting go can be painful, but holding onto what isn’t healthy only breeds more chaos.
You have a chance now to expand your understanding of love and relationships, giving both you and your loved ones the space to experience new forms of freedom and connection. This isn’t a time to force or control, but to embrace how others are able to show up and love you when their identities and autonomy are fully honored and unconditionally loved. Whether or not you see yourself as creative, both Neptune and Jupiter retrograde this season are encouraging you to explore your capacity to build beauty and fall in love with a new hobby (or person). The lesson here will be to not get caught up in the promise of permanence or perfection from the things you create, the activities that bring you joy, and the people you are drawn to. The next five months are trying to open your heart and mind to new ways of co-creating with the universe and existing in connection to others. Liberation and parity are key.
Sagittarius & Sagittarius Rising
The Sun is shining on your potential to heal and come together with your loved ones this month, Sag. How can you unite with your friends to create something new, and to be of service to your community and your passions? The Sun’s positive connection to Jupiter and Uranus could bring about a surprising opportunity for a fresh start in your work and daily routines that will support you in letting go of stagnant or unfulfilling situations. Mars will be transiting the part of your chart that rules higher education, ideals, and travel for the next couple months. You’re driven to study, explore, and share your opinions but be careful. Your desire to escape or to get everyone to see things your way could get in the way of effectively communicating and honoring your commitments. Confront the hard conversations that need to be had this month, and carve out the time for the adventure and exploration that you’re craving.
Neptune and Jupiter’s retrograde in your sector of home and family could be a source of frustration this season. Hiccups at home and with family can be a pain point for you over these next five months. Whether projects are delayed or surprise repairs are needed, Neptune is revealing where things need to be cleaned up and truths need to be discussed. This retrograde is also in conflict with some of your closest connections, including those you share your home with. Sit down with others to get very clear on your boundaries, needs, and non-negotiables. Even if things don’t go your way, you’ll at least know where you stand. The full moon in Capricorn is bringing a culmination to old ways that you’ve invested your time, resources, and energy. You’re primed for new opportunities and abundance right now. The only trick here will be to first embrace what has to fall away.
Capricorn & Capricorn Rising
The full moon in your sign is coming in to knock old chips off your shoulder and fears from your mind, Cap. Cancer season is inviting you to re-assess the means of self-protection (and self-defense) that can leave you too guarded to be cared for in the way that you are wanting. The Sun is moving through your area of partnerships, while making beautiful connections to the parts of your chart that rule your communication and feelings of true love. Let this season give you the courage to express your deepest desires, and open you to be more vulnerable with those you are interested in growing closer to.
All of this is happening while Mars moves through the area of your chart that rules personal healing, transformation, emotions and shared resources. This transit might be one that pulls you deeper into the things you’d rather not dig through, but that will be fully necessary for you to enjoy the gifts that Cancer season is trying to bring. Old wounds surrounding intimacy, love, and your right to experience and express joy might come up for you as Mars rams into Saturn and Uranus. Mars can put you in fight or flight mode when it comes to standing up for yourself. Your best bet is to remember that anger and tension is often rooted in deeper pain or sadness. Let yourself be soft around those who care about you, and express what is getting in the way of the love you deserve. Neptune’s retrograde doesn’t have to be all doom and gloom. In your case, it could help you to see through any mixed signals or pretense that exist between you and the people you’re working with in your immediate community. This clarity probably won’t come as a surprise, but will give you the facts you need in order to say your piece.
Aquarius & Aquarius Rising
The full moon is echoing much of the energy that took place for you between 2017 and 2020, Aqua. At this time, Saturn was transiting Capricorn and brought you through a slow and difficult process of coming face-to-face with your personal ghosts. This could have been a tough time, but it helped clear your heart and mind of the thoughts, behaviors, and situations that only bring you more harm. Don’t be afraid. The full moon this month is only here for a check up and a quick review of all that you’ve learned so that you can fully integrate and love on all aspects of who you are, light and shadow. The Sun, Uranus, and Jupiter are coming together throughout this month, creating some dynamic changes at work and at home, with family and in your bank account. Don’t get too carried away with spending, but if there’s a calculated risk that you’ve been wanting to take in these areas, now is the time.
Neptune’s retrograde in your house of income, possessions, and personal self-esteem is giving you a more stabilized view of what you have at your disposal, and the limitations that make you human. This isn’t a time to feel down about yourself or to fear what you don’t have, but to instead take advantage of this transit to make concrete plans for building the abundance you want. Mars is bulldozing its way through your house of partnerships and one-on-one connections, which can be a blessing and a pain in the ass. You’re driven to go after what you want this month when it comes to the people you share this world with. If there’s something you’re missing — whether it’s autonomy, parity, or clarity — in your relationships, name it while remembering that consent, honesty, and authenticity should be prioritized. Venus will be here soon to smooth out the kinks of what comes up.
Pisces & Pisces Rising
Neptune is retrograding in your first house now, giving you a much better view of how you show up to and for others, Pisces. This retrograde could tug at your emotions as it presents more hard facts about yourself than any idealized notions that you may have held onto, but this isn’t a new transit for you. Neptune has been in your sign for almost a decade and is also your ruling planet. This time of year is always great for reflection, for remembering your personal magic, and re-connecting to your physical body. Let this be a time for you to love on yourself even more.
The full moon in Capricorn is reminding you of the expansion and evolution you’ve seen among your friends, networks, and community over the past three years. Now is the time to celebrate with who has withstood the tests of time, growth, and huge life transitions. Full moons are also about completion. If there is anyone or any wish that you have been holding out for, it may be time to let it go. You’re not a forceful sign, but hoping for things to be different can often derail you from appreciating who and what is here now. Don’t do this to yourself. You’re worth more than what isn’t present. Cancer season is here to help you fall deeper in love with the beautiful things that you can create with the people around you. The Sun, Uranus, and Jupiter are all coming together this month, encouraging you to get out and dig into the outlets, projects, and play that make you feel like a kid again. Events and activities around your neighborhood, with children and childhood friends can bring just the excitement and boost of energy that will help you get ahead of any emo feelings introduced by Neptune’s retrograde. Let yourself feel ecstatic and bask in the joy that is wanting to break through for you.
