winter 2021 horoscopes

These horoscopes provide an overview of Winter 2020-21, with an emphasis on January 2021. They include journal and reflection prompts for each sign to cover the specific themes that will be highlighted in the coming year.

The next month is making way for some large-scale changes, described in the summary of major transits below.

Saturn and Jupiter

Saturn will be in Aquarius from December 17, 2020 until March 7, 2023.

Jupiter will be in Aquarius from December 19, 2020 to May 13, 2021, when it will move into Pisces. It will go back into Aquarius again from July 28 until December 28, 2021.

On December 21, 2020, Saturn and Jupiter met at the exact same degree of the zodiac, causing what astrologers call a “great conjunction.” While internet memes focused on the single day of the conjunction, the effects will last for years. So while you might not get any superpowers out of it, we do expect to feel and most definitely see some major changes over the coming years.

What is a Great Conjunction?

A conjunction in astrology is when two planets meet at the same degree of the zodiac. A “great conjunction” is the term for when Saturn and Jupiter — the largest slow-moving planets in our solar system — form a conjunction. Great conjunctions occur every 19.8 years. When Saturn and Jupiter team up in the sky like this, power shifts abound. Their meeting marks the endings and beginning of eras, usually involving governmental systems and ideas, and mark important times of great change. These include shifts in the hierarchies and institutions that rule our society, which of course ripple out into our personal lives and experiences of one another.

So yes, it’s a big deal.

However, whether and how you actually feel the effects of this conjunction in your personal life depend on your unique natal chart. Unless you have points near 0 degrees of Aquarius, Leo, Taurus, Scorpio, or an air or fire sign, you might not have felt much of a super power — or anything — on Monday. But the truth is that conjunctions between distant and large planets like Saturn and Jupiter aren’t a one-and-done experience. The effects of them ripple out, and slowly unfold over the coming years.

Okay, so what about this conjunction?

This great conjunction is important because it’s the first one to take place in an air sign since the 1800s, with the exception of 1981. For the past 200 years, these conjunctions have taken place in earth signs. This is also the closest that the two planets have been since the 1600s.

The U.S. and other societies have promoted grind culture, institutions of surveillance and control, and individual wealth at the expense of collective survival since its founding. It’s no surprise that these very things — “hard work”, personal wealth, capitalism, and structure  — are some of the shadowy aspects of the earth element that we are finally coming out of after 200 years.

Aquarius rules all types of innovative and experimental thought, humanitarianism and activism, and the pooling of resources for the betterment of the collective. In 2021 specifically, Jupiter in Aquarius is laying the foundation for different ideas and philosophies to take hold on how our societies should exist. Where Saturn rules the structures themselves, Jupiter rules the thoughts and beliefs that those structures are based upon. In Aquarius, there’s potential for finally breaking away from the status quo toward new advances. After Jupiter moves out of Aquarius at the end of the year, Saturn will still be there for us to work with actually building these ideas into our lives and shifting our dynamics with the powers that be. However, these changes don’t necessarily guarantee a peaceful means. Aquarius is a fixed sign, and when it believes in something strongly, it will fight for it. And that fight will be necessary.

On a personal level, one of the best ways to balance the two energies is the concept of disciplined expansion. This energy will highlight the area in your chart where Aquarius lives. Jupiter is often associated with luck and abundance, but more than anything it is BIG. Meaning whatever is out of balance and that we need to work on is highlighted, but we also have potential to receive great support, luck, and expansion in these areas. On the flip side, Saturn is all about restrictions, hard lessons, and reality checks. 2021 encourages us to set solid foundations under the dreams and goals we have so that we can patiently and practically bring them to life.

Mars in Taurus

On January 7, Mars will finally move out of its home in Aries and into Taurus. Where we might have felt a lot of “overdrive” and burnout energy at the end of 2020, Mars in Taurus asks us to move toward what we want with patience and mindfulness.

Mars will conjunct Uranus from January 20-21, and then square Jupiter from January 21-26. Things may feel abrasive and impulses that we’ve been holding back could burst forward if we don’t find healthy outlets for them ahead of time. If you know that a habit needs breaking, a dynamic needs shifting, or a conversation needs to be had, leaning on empathy, solid boundaries (not walls), self-discipline and active listening can help us not to say or do things that we might regret later.

Eclipse Cycles

The Gemini and Sagittarius eclipse cycle started in June 2020 and will continue until December 2021. This cycle is pushing us all to rethink communication, personal ideals, and our long-term needs and goals. Eclipses bring endings and beginnings that may feel sudden, but oftentimes have ample energy that leads up to the changes that they create. The most recent eclipse took place in Sagittarius on December 14, and the next one won’t occur until May 26. I touch on those cycles below, but more details will come as we get closer to the next eclipse.

Aries.png

Aries + Aries Rising

Aries, Mars is finally moving out of your sign after four long months. Feelings might still be frazzled, tender, or raw, as Mars shows us exactly who we become when we feel pushed to fight, flee, or test our own limits. Mars showed up to show you the power that your fire can bring, for better or for worse. Now that it’s moving into Taurus, it’s giving you some time to cool off and use your energy toward the things that build you up and make you feel secure. This is an excellent time for keeping your financial resources close, digging into a new side hustle, or building a new skill. Take care toward the end of the month when Uranus teams up with Mars, though. Things are fiery and hectic, and could lead to rash decisions or impulse buys.

The Sagittarius eclipse that happened in mid-December could have you re-evaluating your beliefs, your fears, and how you act them out in the world. The next year and a half will introduce opportunities to continue doing this digging, and to gain clarity in your thought and communication, especially with those closest to you. All of this happens while Saturn and Jupiter cruise into your 11th house of friendships, community, wishes and dreams. Some relationships could have felt shaky this fall, but the coming year will support you in reviewing which of your connections are really for you, and which it may be time to let go of. As we grow and change, our circles, dreams, and expectations for our lives do, too. If something you’ve wanted for a long time could finally arrive this year, be willing to work to keep it in your grasp, and be honest if it’s no longer a reflection of who you are.

Reflection Prompts

  • What attitudes, fears, and beliefs do I have that are no longer true for me, or that are getting in my way? What do I think would happen if I let go of them?

  • What have I learned about the concept of friendship over the past seven years?  Does my closest circle of people reflect my actions, my values, and my beliefs?

  • What qualities do I seek in my friendships and community? Who do I have to be in order to attract the alliances that I am wanting?

  • How do I wish to show up for the collective? What contributions am I making to the world beyond myself?

  • What have I learned about my relationship to anger and fear, my ability to stand up for myself, and the repercussions that arise when I do? How can I befriend my angers and fears in order to confront and use them effectively?

Taurus.png

Taurus & Taurus Rising

This year’s eclipses are bringing attention to your material possessions, the way you make money, and how you share power and resources with those around you, Taurus. You might be asked to take risks and get creative in order to achieve your goals or to stay true to yourself over the next couple of years. This isn’t naturally the most comfortable thing for stability-driven Taurus, and with Uranus in your sign, you may be thrown way out of your comfort zone. A great way to use this energy is to get ahead of any potential chaos. It’s easier to navigate changes when we’re the ones initiating them. It’s easier to handle rainy days when we’ve mentally, physically, and financially prepared for them if we have the means to do so. Using this winter season to create plans and backup plans, and then paying attention on when to act will be helpful.

Saturn and Jupiter have just moved into your tenth house of career, reputation, and the legacy you’re meant to leave in this world. You could see the fruits of your labor finally starting to peek out from behind the shadows this year, but you’ll also feel pressure in the areas where you’ll need greater discipline to follow through on your commitments. Saturn is asking you to mature in how you handle business and professional relationships, as well as being in the spotlight. Staying humble, focused, and open to continue learning will help soothe these tensions. In January, Mars will move into your first house, giving you a driven (and potentially combative) energy that will make you want to show people just who you are. If you’re battling it out with authority figures, career goals, or old people and energies from your past, it’s a great time to be flexible and use your agency where you can, and know when to liberate yourself from situations that don’t feed you.

Reflection Prompts

  • What kinds of dynamics and situations have I given my power away to in the past? How can I leverage my inner power to gracefully navigate challenges, to foster healthy collaborations, and to effectively communicate my personal boundaries with those around me?

  • What is my relationship with the people in my life who represent systems of authority? Be they parents, employers, or even societal expectations and norms? What can I do to help transform these systems and relationships in order to create greater equity for all involved?

  • In what ways could my work and daily life better reflect my belief systems, values, and the ways in which I want to create stability for myself?

  • How can I make room for myself to exist freely and authentically, while honoring my responsibilities to the people and projects that I have committed to?

  • How am I building the skills, support, and relationships that I’ll need to achieve the long-standing goals I’ve had for myself? How do I plan to reciprocate the help that I receive?

Gemini.png

Gemini & Gemini Rising

Ohhhh, the changes! Gemini, this next year is going to be big for all of us, but you may have some special feelings attached to these (especially if you’re a Gemini rising). This eclipse cycle will highlight some of your brightest spots and the biggest areas for you to grow, and in turn will create changes in your closest relationships as you evolve. This is all happening while Uranus is playing around in your 12th house of imagination, secrets, behind-the-scenes plans, and unfortunately, the ways that we self-sabotage. That means there could be upheavals in all of these areas — some amazing, and some tough. It is a great time to build a rich inner life: certain dreams, projects, goals that you’re working on don’t need to be shared with the masses; some means of self protection and care, and the revelations that come from your quiet time do not need to be subject to likes, shares, and social media algorithms. There is power in knowing when to keep your gifts to yourself as you perfect them, especially as the next couple years might see you pick up and put down a few ideas and projects as you discover what truly reflects you.

While this happens, Jupiter and Saturn are transiting your 9th house, which governs your beliefs, ideals, and higher education. 2021 will have a duality to it: you’ll be given opportunities to expand your worldview and long-term visions, while also probably being forced to cross out old personal philosophies and fears that either hold you back or undermine your highest potential. Be fearless in your learning endeavors this year, while also being humble enough to shift your thoughts and opinions when presented with new information. This will not be a fast process, however, so don’t worry about forcing it. Mars is finally wrapping up its time in your 11th house of friendships and community alliances in January, and will move into your 12th house (yes, with Uranus). While it may not be the time to share your great ideas this month, it will help to reflect on what you want to do long-term and who actually needs to know about your plans before they come to life.

Reflection Prompts

  • How do I define spirituality? What is my relationship to spirituality and religion, whether the beliefs and practices that I was raised with, or the ones I would like to explore?

  • What practices do I have that help bring me back to a state of calm and groundedness? What practices could I learn and develop over these next few years?

  • What is my relationship to solitude and silence? Who am I and how do I feel when no one is watching?

  • What ideas and subjects have I wanted to learn or share with others? How can I feed my curiosity and build spaces that will support my efforts?

  • In what ways do I want my personal relationships to grow with me? What qualities do I want in my intimate connections and closest partnerships?

Cancer.png

Cancer & Cancer Rising

Cancer, you made it! Saturn spent the last two years putting pressure on your 7th house of partnerships, pushing you to confront the ways that you show up, the things that you let slide too easily, and the dynamics you can no longer participate in. Some relationships have grown stronger while others have shape-shifted or dissolved. You may still feel the effects of this moving into 2021, as Jupiter and Saturn now move onto your 8th house of shared resources, debt, sex and sexual relationships, as well as deep healing. You could see a time of having to accept what financial and emotional support may no longer be in your life, while opening up to new opportunities to create it for yourself. This time could take away what we want in order to give us what we need. Saturn’s movement through the 7th and 8th houses are not the easiest, but they are here to uncover the patterns that we’ve inherited from our family lineage and childhood, and ask us to heal in order to fully come into our own.  It may feel intense, but this transit is asking you to step into your personal power and resourcefulness in order to build your sense of self. It is a beautiful time for therapy and honest, loving confrontations with our needs to re-parent ourselves through whatever is lacking. If you can maintain healthy boundaries and discipline with the resources available to you, letting go will be easier, and you’ll have an opportunity for deep healing and healthier relationships.

Be wary of overextending yourself. You could see some shifts and expansions in the areas of work and your health, and it will be important to figure out how to really take care of yourself in the midst of long days, changes, and loads of activity. Overthinking, multitasking, and moving too quickly undermine your ability to bring your best self to the moment, especially this year. Don’t overestimate your capacity or underestimate your needs as a living, breathing, person.

Reflection Prompts

  • What is my relationship to rest? How can I better empathize with my personal limits rather than force myself past them?

  • What tools do I have to nurture myself, to support myself emotionally? What resources do I still need?

  • What have I learned about myself in relationship to others over the past seven years? How has my understanding of relationships changed over time?

  • If there are dynamics, systems, or debts that are no longer healthy for me to hold on to or participate in, what steps can I take to liberate myself from them?

  • If I close my eyes and think of my future self — my life, my relationships, my feelings and my work in the world — what images come to mind? As I move through new challenges and experiences, can I keep that image in my head while still embracing myself as whole and complete as I am?

Leo.png

Leo & Leo Rising

Mars is moving into your 10th house in January, Leo, and your drive to achieve and be recognized for your efforts could be high. This energy could feel much more comfortable for you as the natural-born leaders of the zodiac, but there’s also potential for conflicts with those in your circle — bosses, employees, and teammates of all kinds. Approach this drive with diplomacy, patience, and a desire to bring out the best in those who surround you. The 10th house rules how we show up in the world, our long standing reputation and career path. Rash decisions, harsh words, or momentary outbursts could leave a lasting mark with others. While it may feel good in the moment, it could have consequences down the line. Practicing empathy for yourself and others won’t just win you more alliances, but will shape others’ ability to trust you as a leader they want to follow.

Saturn and Jupiter just started their trip through your 7th house, where your romantic and business partnerships and one-to-one relationships reside. Pay attention to what is flourishing and what is dying off. Each relationship is a reflection of us, and sometimes challenges arise to mirror back to us exactly how we are meant to grow. This is a great time to reflect on what you are ready for in your relationships and what needs more time to develop. The more you can release pride and control and embrace your own emotional capacity — whatever it may be at the moment — the more space you create for healthy connections to flow in.

Reflection Prompts

  • What does it look like for me to balance my need for personal freedom and autonomy with the demands of my committed relationships?

  • What compromises am I willing to make so that both I and my partners in love and business can feel seen and supported? What feels healthy for me, and what is beyond my physical and emotional boundaries?

  • What are my greatest dreams and desires for myself and my community? How have they changed over the past few years?

  • What standards and expectations do I have for the people in my life, be they romantic interests, friends, or social networks? In what ways can I show up in these spaces with authenticity, generosity, and empathy?

  • What parts of me are wanting to be fully expressed? What new ideas, desires, and dreams are forming within me? How can I nurture them this year?

Virgo.png

Virgo & Virgo Rising

Virgo, Saturn and Jupiter may ask you to bring further structure and stability to your everyday life this year and in the next few to come. As thinkers, Virgos love a good problem to solve, but the pressures of feeling as though you’re the only one who can do the job right puts unnecessary strain on you and your relationships. Over the next two years, call in the crew that you need to get everything done. Make friends with delegation, moments of pure and interrupted rest, and intentional experimentation with your work and how you want to do it. You have a chance to create something new in this area of your life that could benefit others, but innovation requires getting comfortable with releasing control, making mistakes, and letting others on your team grow and learn with you.

Mars is leaving your 8th house in January, and could have shaken up some collaborations, power dynamics, and old wounds you thought had been healed. But it also leaves you so much more in your power to say “no” to what’s not for you and “yes” to what is. Use this energy to recalibrate long-term plans, to finish projects left on the shelf, and to share your thoughts and creations with others. If you’re willing to hear what they have to share, they’re more than likely to take interest in what you’re bringing to the table. With the eclipse season continuing to bring changes to your home and career, each step you take could contribute to something greater than you now know.

Reflection Prompts

  • What in my home and my career is ready for a change? What shifts have I noticed over the past year, and how can I take advantage of them?

  • What long-term goals am I putting into place for myself? How can I maintain a clear view of the “big picture”, and incorporate that vision into my daily work?

  • How can I better utilize the resources available to me — people, institutions, information — to keep myself afloat? Do I have these resources? Can I ask for help when I need it?

  • How can I maintain my personal peace in the midst of those who approach life differently than I do? What power do I give over to things that are unfamiliar to me, and how can I move past this?

  • What is my relationship to my physical body? How can I make greater time for movement, rest without worry, and recreation that is independent of my work?

Libra.png

Libra & Libra Rising

Mars is finishing its time in your area of personal, one-to-one relationships in January, Libra. Take a much-deserved breath. Your drive to get what you want and need out of relationships could have been met with tough opposition over the past few months, and you might have been pushed to candidly speak up for exactly what those needs and desires are. As things begin to smooth out this season, you could have opportunities to find compromise with your long-standing connections, or simply move on from what’s not for you. Winter will present great opportunities for healing deeper-seated patterns and how they show up in collaborations, your ability to stand in your personal power, and your ability to give and receive support from those around you.

All of this is happening while this year’s series of eclipses continue in your houses of communication and higher knowing. As a sign that typically steers away from confrontation, this is a great year to practice uncovering your personal truth and honestly communicating it to those around you. Some may not like what you have to say, and some dynamics may change because of it. But the rewards of standing firmly in who you are will far outweigh the consequences of stifling yourself to get along. Earlier in 2020 you got a sneak peek into some immense growth in your creative endeavors, self expression, and ideas surrounding love, creativity, and joy that will be happening over the next three years. That energy is highlighted throughout 2021. Remember that as long as you are not harming anyone, it is perfectly fine to prioritize your joy.  Leaning into the things that make you feel happy, the creations that make you feel like a kid again can be soothing in the midst of great changes.

Reflection Prompts

  • What in me is healing so that I can express myself more authentically?

  • What have I learned about my needs, desires, and expectations in relationships over the past four months?

  • Are there ways that I hold myself back when it comes to communicating and expressing my truth? Where does this hesitation come from, and what could happen if I free myself from it?

  • How can I take further control over my personal and creative life?

  • What creative collaborations are feeding me? Which are no longer meant for me to be a part of?

Scorpio.png

Scorpio & Scorpio Rising

Scorpio, your ruling planet, Mars, is moving into the area of your chart that rules committed partnerships of all kinds. This planet’s heat can motivate us to build and mend bridges or burn them through impulse. If tensions arise with others, take ownership of the energy you bring to the situation and create the agreements you need to fight fair. There’s no way to ensure that everyone involved feels heard and understood, but effort goes far. Your ability to read between the lines could help you understand another person’s needs, fears, pain, and motivations. Take space, take a breath, and if big changes must be made, know when to compromise and when to cut your losses.

This year’s eclipse cycle and transits of Saturn and Jupiter are here to redefine the way you respond to uncertainty and insecurity, as well as your relationship to control. Moments throughout this year could remind you that words have the power to heal and to break. This is a perfect time to revisit learned behaviors, habits, and responses that stem from childhood and family lineage. Digging into these depths and the ways they impact home, communication patterns, fear responses, and those we care for will bring great rewards this year. You have the capacity to do this. You’ve already worked hard for it.

Reflection Prompts

  • What does the concept of “home” mean to me? What have my experiences of home and belonging been throughout my life so far?

  • When I think of “my people”, who comes to mind? What groups, individuals, communities and cultures have contributed to my life? What gifts and strengths have they given to me? What habits and practices do I no longer need?

  • What is my definition of healthy disagreement? Do I feel like I have the tools to engage in conflict in ways that are safe and fair for others?

  • How do I respond to conditions of uncertainty? Where do I go mentally and emotionally when confronted with the threat of scarcity?

  • When do I feel most in my power? How can I use my personal power this year to create positive changes for myself and others?

Sagittarius.png

Sagittarius & Sagittarius Rising

2020 has been a time of  breakthroughs and breakdowns for a lot of us, but yours had a unique drive to them, Sag. Mars moved back and forth in your 5th house, kicking up some dust around all of the things that you want to bring to life while forcing you to question whether you have all the resources that you need to pull these things off. That dust is finally settling, but you might still feel some leftover tension moving into the new year. Mars is asking you to work for what you want this season, and you’ll be up to the task, but be gentle with pushing yourself too hard and too fast. A great way to use this energy is to fall in love with the process rather than stress over the final result. Break down the to-do lists into smaller, manageable pieces to avoid burnout, and seek out mentors and supports that you can look to for inspiration and guidance.

Jupiter and Saturn are moving into your 3rd house, bringing attention, lessons, and potential blessings in all forms of communication, close and friendly relationships, and the sharing of ideas and skills. Honest, thoughtful, and careful communication can bring rewards, but your ability to do this may be tested over the next few years. While we can’t make sure that everyone stays in their integrity, we can read between the lines, read the fine print, trust our intuition, and very clearly state our expectations.

Reflection Prompts

  • What are solid ways that I can prioritize my physical and mental health as I navigate changes in my daily work?

  • What unique skills do I have to offer that others may want to learn from me, or that I could contribute to the collective?

  • What changes do I need to make in my close friendships and community to let myself and others be heard and understood?

  • What about my creative process brings me the most joy? How can I preserve that joy moving into this new year?

  • As I navigate personal breakthroughs and changes, how are my relationships growing with me? How am I growing and changing in response to others in my life?

Capricorn.png

Capricorn & Capricorn Rising

Saturn has finally completed its transit through your sign, Cap, and the effects of this could take some time to wear off or settle in. With Saturn and Pluto in Capricorn (Pluto is still there), the past few years could have felt like your professional and personal lives were thrown into a pressure cooker. If you’re feeling raw, exhausted, or even invigorated, your greatest peace will come from riding the waves that come, and trusting that they’ll settle down. Challenges will continue, but trust that you’ve developed new tools to navigate them with grace. Honor new forms of abundance with integrity and planning for a rainy day. Have fun this month. You deserve it.

Mars has been stumbling its way through your 4th house for the last four months of 2020, Cap. Pushing you to revisit the foundations you’ve set for yourself, the long-term plans you had around home and family, and the beliefs that have been passed onto you through your lineage. This could have felt frustrating for a solid taskmaster like you, but as Mars moves into your 5th house in January, you’ll soon have chances to creatively rebuild on more solid ground. Be careful of wearing yourself thin or moving impulsively on your next big idea. This winter, make time for play, brainstorming, and observing what your inner world now looks like: what foundations — whether daily routines, rituals, or parts of your home life — are you building to support your creative ventures and love relationships so that you can show up for them mindfully and fully prepared to do your best work?

Reflection Prompts

  • How am I different from the person I was three years ago? How have my beliefs, values, and long-term goals shifted?

  • How have I grown and matured over the past three years? What parts of me are still asking to be healed?

  • What have I learned about navigating challenges? How can I be gentle with myself as I navigate times of uncertainty?

  • In what ways am I using the resources available to me to further develop my creativity? Do I use my resources and finances in ways that reflect my values?

  • What is my personal definition of wealth and abundance? What resources — financial, institutional, social, and more — do I need to feel stable and secure? Can I work toward them this year?

Aquarius.png

Aquarius & Aquarius Rising

Alright Aqua, Saturn’s been making its way over to you for the past year, bringing with it ample opportunities for you to level up and truly release what isn’t for you. Saturn moving through your sign represents a time of personal growth, maturation, and rewards for hard work that you’ve done not only in the external world, but in your personal life as well. Any lessons that you’ve stalled on learning or habits and relationships that you’ve held on to past their expiration will come up for review. Despite the sign’s bad reputation, Saturn’s really not here to be a pain, but to be a teacher. If you can embrace restrictions as chances to dig deeper, if you can mourn what is lost while appreciating what you learned from it, and if you can handle new responsibilities with grace and humility, you will come out on the other side of this transit with renewed perspective. With Jupiter by Saturn’s side, you have an extra helping hand as you ease into this energy, and some great support if you’re willing to initiate the changes you know you need. Don’t force what isn’t working, but do stay persistent and focused on what you can control.

Mars is moving into your area of home and family life, and will meet up with Uranus, who has been here for the past couple of years making subtle (and not so subtle) sparks fly. It may be time to draw a hard boundary with someone or something that you’ve dealt with for much too long, whether it’s another person or a pattern within yourself. Home and family relationships could feel chaotic, stifling, or just in need of repair this month, so take your time to get to the root of things. Over the coming year, you’re balancing a lot of changes in your social networks, self-expression, and your personal definitions of joy and love, all while Saturn and Jupiter make their way into your space. Mars and Uranus energy could rattle your foundations, but can also reveal deeper needs that you hadn’t paid attention to.

Reflection Prompts

  • How can I further ground my ideas into the real life circumstances that surround me? How can I implement the changes that I want to see in our society into my personal life and relationships?

  • Who am I becoming? What have I learned about myself, my strengths, and the ways I can continue to grow?

  • What foundations in my life are no longer necessary for me? What in my home life, my relationships, and my ancestral lineage is asking to be healed?

  • How can I be accountable to fearlessly and authentically expressing myself this year? Do I believe that I am safe to fully speak my truth and embody my true self?

  • How can I continue to show up for the friendships and connections in my life, both old and new? What changes would I like to make to deepen and honor the bonds with those who are there for me?

Pisces.png

Pisces & Pisces Rising

Pisces, Saturn and Jupiter are moving into your 12th house, bringing in a chance for deep healing and spiritual exploration. The 12th house holds all of the ways that we escape from the world, the things that we keep behind the scenes, and the parts of ourselves that may be the most difficult for us to own or work through. It is the final house in the astrological system, and can represent a hibernation period and a time of deep reflection and letting go so that you can embrace the new beginnings that will come to you when Jupiter moves into your sign at the end of 2021. If you’re determined to go at full speed right now, then some parts of the next two years, and especially 2021, might feel like you’re walking through mud. This is a great time for personal healing, working quietly to finish projects and plans, and creating the space for rest, reflection, and creativity that your body and mind will need. Find and honor the qualities, thoughts, and ideas you have that make you unique. There’s no need to fear or overthink them, as they just might be what others need.

Mars is rambling its way through your 3rd house in January, causing some commotion around your daily tasks, immediate environment, and communication. You’ll be supported by the drive to communicate openly, honestly, and freely, but tact and sensitivity will be needed to get your points across, especially when Mars bumps into Uranus later on in the month. If there’s anything you’ve kept too quiet, details you’ve overlooked, or words you’ve left unsaid, Mars and Uranus can pull out our frustrations and outbursts, or throw a wrench in our plans. If you can balance your renewed energy by calming your mind, getting everything in writing, and being honest about your boundaries, you can jump over hurdles with greater ease.

Reflection Prompts

  • What thoughts, beliefs, and abilities do I have that may set me apart from my community, but also allow me to contribute to it in my own unique way? Do I have any fears or concerns about owning these parts of myself and expressing them fully?

  • What habits, doubts, and fears do I have that hold me back and undermine my success in friendships, relationships, my goals, and my health? How can I empathize with those habits, doubts, and fears in order to gently set them aside?

  • What cycles are coming to an end in my life? As I let old habits, relationships, and patterns go, what new things am I giving birth to?

  • How do I honor my personal privacy and that of others, while also navigating shifts in my public life, career, and standing in the world around me?

  • What parts of my life are sacred to me? What activities, rituals, practices do I share publicly, and which are only for my eyes and a select few people that I trust?
